Make sure to trim the wick before lighting the candle to prevent the flame from being too high and the wick from curling into the melted wax, which could make the wick disappear.
Do not leave wick cut-offs in the wax as it could cause a fire.
Use a damp paper towel to clean the glass and get rid of any soot.
Make sure to place your pillar candle on a sturdy and heat-resistant candle tray or holder.
Place your candle in a position away from drafts, curtains, and any flammables.
When using Pillar Candles, it is important to monitor the melt pool. This means you should either extinguish the candle when it reaches the rim or leave at least 2 inches of wax at the bottom for safety.
To prevent a hazard, make sure to space pillar candles apart sufficiently so they do not melt into each other.
For container candles, burn to the glass (approximately 2-3 hours at a time) to create a melt pool that will continue down the glass and not melt in the centre - this is called creating candle memory and you will get good use out of your candle.
Most importantly, make sure candles are extinguished when leaving the room, or if the flame is high and the wick is smoking or flickering
Always make sure your candle has been blown out or snuffed out completely before going out or to bed.
Never light a container candle if the glass or container is cracked or broken. Container wax is soft and will run out of the vessel.
